Lakeview Museum is honored to be the first museum east of the Rockies to host a recent series of glass works made by William Morris, the premier contemporary American glass artist. The exhibit features 38 vessels inspired by the flora and fauna of the American Northwest. No ordinary vases and jars, these vessels are tremendous forms evocative of the landscape itself and adorned with glass items such as acorns, chipmunks, pine needles and small birds.
Morris began his career as a glass artist working for Dale Chihuly. The two artists have remained close although their individual styles and approaches to their medium are quite different. Morris enjoys an international reputation for his accomplishments in glass, as well as for his meticulous techniques and the high degree of craftsmanship he brings to each project.
