Workshops
Summer Sunday Workshops
Learn the art of wheat weaving from members of the Illinois Association of Wheat Weavers? Various working techniques exist. The most common approach is plaiting, also known as braiding. Register for 1 or all 3 of the following workshops. Meet the teachers as they demonstrate some of the techniques used.
Location - Folk Art Gallery – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. May 22nd

June 27 - Candy Cane/Heart Wheat Weaving Workshop

A great family activity! Fun to do and each will come away with a completed project. All experience levels, ages 8 & older

July 18 - Straw Doll Workshop

Participants will learn about tying straw and some plaiting. A fun experience…and all will come away with a completed doll.

August 15 - Harvest Favors Workshop
12:30 – 4:30
Learn the art of making love knots and the tradition of making harvest favors. Every one will come away with a straw project.
